Limestone (CaCO3 stone)
Calcium carbonate, or CaCO3, is one of the most useful and versatile materials for mankind. It is very common and is found all over the world in sediments, metamorphic rocks and igneous rocks.
Located in more than 4% of the earth’s crust and found around the world. The most common natural form of CaCO3 is chalk, limestone, marble formed from the sediments of small shellfish, shells and corals over millions of years.
Calcium carbonate stone is found all over the world, which is why it is one of the most widely used raw materials for over 5000 years. However, although the ore mines are plentiful, only a few are of sufficient quality to be put into use and some will even prioritize the supply of raw materials for industry such as are plastics, paints, adhesives, glue, food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paper, ink … and agriculture rather than construction and road industries.
